Welcome Martha

Rev. Canon Martha Mutikani is delighted to have accepted the appointment to be our vicar, and looks forward to serving at St Augustine’s, Scaynes Hill. She currently serves as an Associate Vicar in the Uckfield Plurality and has been ordained since 2015. Alongside her parish ministry, she is the Assistant Dean of Women’s Ministry in the Chichester Diocese,  a trustee and one of the chaplains for the Zimbabwe Anglican Fellowship UK (ZiNAFE.ORG ).

Martha has a deep commitment to pastoral care, children’s ministry, school governance, women’s ministry, racial justice, diaspora communities, and vocation. She was installed as a Prebendal Canon of Chichester Cathedral in recognition of her service to racial justice within the Church and wider community. In addition to her ministry, she works as a Senior Occupational Health Advisor, having previously held leadership roles in the NHS.

Martha is married to Constantine, a mother of three adult children, and a proud grandmother. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, swimming, and travelling. She is sustained by the 3 Ps—Praise, Prayer, and Play.

As we prepare for this transition, we continue to pray for the churches of the Uckfield Plurality—St Margaret’s Isfield, St Michael and All Angels Little Horsted, and Holy Cross Uckfield—as well as for all at St Augustine’s, Scaynes Hill.

We very much look forward to Canon Martha joining us at St Augustine’s and offer her a very warm welcome.
