The theme of Prayer Spaces this month was the Blessings of life, focussing on the Beatitudes.
Like most of Jesus’s teachings, not what you might first expect.
We listened, read sang and prayed. We thought and prayed creatively with Matthew 5 as our guide.
Everyone was able to discover something new and pray blessings for our church, our community, ourselves, our families and our world.
And we admired God’s extravagant creativity expressed in the amazing Strelitzia flowers!
The Beatitudes
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.
Blessed are those who suffer persecution for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
