Weddings at St Augustine’s Church
The range of options for those wishing to marry in church has been increased by a change in the law, and it may now be possible for some couples to marry in St Augustine’s even if they do not live in the parish. An idea of those who are eligible can be gained from this page of the Church of England’s very informative Your Church Wedding web site.
If you think you may be able to get married here, but want to know all the details for sure, please do get in touch with the Reverend Beverley Miles at The Vicarage, Vicarage Lane, Scaynes Hill. Alternatively, you could contact her by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
For further general information about weddings in the Church of England, you may find it helpful to consult its official web pages on church weddings.
Note that during the current Covid–19 pandemic, there may be various restrictions in place, including (for example) reductions in the scale of attendance at weddings in Anglican churches. Please ask Beverley for more information. Remember, though, that changes may have to be made to arrangements with less warning than any of us could wish.
Application for Banns of Marriage
The application for banns is available as a portable document format file, which may well open and be printable from your web browser. If not, it can be read using a pdf reader such as Adobe Reader, which is freely available for many common operating systems.
The completed form should be returned to
Reverend Beverley Miles at the Vicarage, Vicarage Lane, Scaynes Hill.
