Letter from Tom Robson
March 2010
Dear Friends,
On Sunday 14th February a group of us went to a Youthservice at St Peter’s Church, Ardingly. It was the second in a series of local Youthservices, the first having been here in Scaynes Hill last November.
The evening started in unusual fashion as we were picked up in an old London double-decker bus, with almost entirely original features — apart from the new sound system!
The theme of the service was overcoming obstacles to God and we heard the story from the Bible of when a rich young man met Jesus. He was a good man who was seen as very respectable but he wasn’t prepared to give up everything to follow the Lord. We thought about the kinds of things that can get in the way of us getting to know God and how he can help us get to know him better.
As a Christian I know that there are many challenges in following Jesus, but none are insurmountable with God’s help; whether they are emotional, intellectual, or spiritual. I trust that he does have a great plan for each of our lives and because he is a loving God he wants everyone to come into a full knowledge of all that he has done for us, and all he has to give to us!
The next Cluster Youthservice is on the 16th May where I will be speaking and I hope that lots of young people are able to join us again for another evening finding out more about Jesus and how we can find life in him.
Yours,
Tom
