Letter from Tom Robson
July 2010
Dear Friends,
From Wednesday to Friday of half-term around fifteen young people and a team of six leaders turned actors and directors for a 4-act play looking at some of the most exciting stories from the bible.
We travelled from the opening scene of creation through to the part we can all play in God’s Big Story; taking in King David and Jesus’ death and resurrection on the way.
We acted out the stories, created the set, interviewed the cast, put leaders in the spotlight, and learned the script as well as enjoying some fine refreshments and the traditional messy and disgusting games.
Everyone had a great time as we had fun together learning about how God has been working through history to fulfil his big plan for his creation.
We finished our story on the Sunday morning at the monthly all-age service when we shared some of the things that we had been doing and laughed at some of our funniest moments.
I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped with the holiday club; some for the first time and some for the fourth I think! It’s always such great fun but only is able to happen because of the time given up by the group of volunteers, some of whom were in the middle of revising for exams.
I don’t know what the theme will be for next year’s holiday club but I’m sure it will be as fun, if not even more fun, than this year and I think some people may be looking forward to it already.
Yours,
Tom
